China reaffirms to continue taking resolute countermeasures to safeguard its interests

• There is no winner in a trade war
• If US insists on its own way, China will follow until the end
• Will take further measures to oppose US bullying
• China doesn’t want to fight a tariffs/trade war, but will not be fearful of one
• China will not sit back and let its rights and interests be deprived

We’ve heard all of this before, although there is definitely a more defensive tone overall this time around. That said, it is still accompanied by the earlier message that they want to resolve things by negotiating. However, it remains to be seen when both sides will actually let go of their respective egos to sit down at the table and talk. For now, it doesn’t look like any time soon.
