The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is weighing a potential lawsuit against the Trump administration in a bid to block a new round of global tariffs set to take effect Wednesday.
Pressured by major corporate members, the Chamber may argue that President Trump improperly used emergency powers under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to justify the measures.
Fearing retaliation, many businesses are reluctant to speak out directly and are instead pushing trade associations to take the lead.
